Aaron doesn't have any hearing issues but everything he does is in high high volume. Like he just cant' get enough of his voice. And he is never ever satisfied when he wants to tell us something to just tell us... He has to say our name (Pop or Mama) over and over and over and over again until we respond before he will tell us whatever it is he wants us to know. I think BOTH of those are part and parcel of never having been listened to and not knowing his own voice. I can't wait for the day when you say of Jacob that he never shuts up.... even if it is too loud and if he is totally incessant with his words!!! It will come. And yes - Aaron always had the glazed, disconnected eyes when he came to us each time. It took him a while to bring 'himself' into our world. A lot of times he would 'bridge the gap' by going over to a wall and having a discussion with an imaginary friend. He would talk in mumbo jumbo and rock and twist his body. We would follow behind him and talk to him and he would eventually stop talking to his 'friend' and come to us.Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04814524050417570766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471583393346450862.post-80231111679672608682012-02-04T01:45:41.425-08:002012-02-04T01:45:41.425-08:00Man yall are so lucky to get to watch all this hap...Man yall are so lucky to get to watch all this happen. I know there will be some sadness along the way, but man oh man the joy and fun and pride Jacob (has already) will bring to your lives in the coming months and years. He already feels like a Wall and I already can't remember him not in your lives. Amazing how kids do that "erasing your memory" thing!!Anthony and Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15032027522772324601noreply@blogger.com
